The Analytics Know It ALL

 How does anyone really know what is working at what is not working in the SEM industry. Let’s face it; analytics is the need to determine what is working and what is not. The problem with analytics packages is no normalizing of the data.

Since I’m some what technical, I can say that if any package has an “import” logs and can’t filter out the crap you really can’t get a good picture of performance. There is nothing more frustrating than taking in clients’ analytics logs and trying to make a rhyme or reason behind them. I mean really, log files, shoot me, call me dead and then let’s just normalize and become normal! Where is this industry going?

So, Google has the big dog brand behind them, but really free analytics, what is that? Let’s pretend to be the client, “Wow thanks for the great graphs but what does that mean?” Can you say,”Good billable work?” Google, Yahoo! and MSN will get this and slowly in their quest for market share they will figure out that competing wastes dollars and collaborating makes profits!
