I’ve been an internet marketing consultant for several years now. I started using the internet when my father introduced me to the TRS80 and I found recipes and playing command line games an interesting alternative to the television. After changing majors a few times at West Valley Junior College, I decided to stick with technology and enrolled at San Jose State University in the Management Information Systems degree program. It was here, taking on 18 units a semester, where I truly found the impact of the internet and information technology. One of my internships was at KSJS, the college radio station. I was introduced to broadcasting interactive streaming video using CUSeeMe technology. My title was production assistant and I supported Dan Fortune during his technology show; SoundBytes. I worked with a PowerPC AV and trafficked internet listeners’ questions to Dan in the studio. Dan then asked the questions to the guests and within seconds the internet listeners’ had their questions answered by industry professionals and I could see their faces! When I met the founders of Yahoo! at the radio station I became hooked on search marketing.

My first job out of college was with Cisco Systems. I worked within the Information Systems group supporting distant learning. My biggest accomplishment at Cisco was using my internet broadcasting skills to support the International French American School of Silicon Valley broadcast across the globe with U.S. President Bill Clinton.

After Cisco I held positions in project management with several start-ups in Silicon Valley. During this time in my career I worked with amazing clients; Donney & Bourke,Smith & Hawken, World of Watches, Eangler, and many more.

Within my experiences in web product development I’ve launched more than 40 websites. I’ve worked with clients, business analysts, designers, database administrators and programmers to make the web a better place.

Before I started consulting I held full-time positions; Search Marketing Manager at Interactivate Inc. and the Search Engine Optimization Consultant at Kintera Inc. where I worked with clients including San Diego American Red Cross, Prostate Cancer Foundation and Clinton Foundation.

My career has been a big learning experience and this is why, in the most recent part of my career, I’ve focused my efforts in search marketing. I enjoy learning and teaching people what I know, so search engine optimization and paid search management keep me moving fast to stay ahead of the curve.
